Taking inspiration from Gibson's SJ-200, this J-200 version also features a Super Jumbo body to produce warm, rich tone with exceptional clarity. Crafted with a spruce top and formed from mahogany back and sides, the balanced sound bellows and resonates supremely—as you'd expect from a guitar this beautiful. Affixed to the top is an imitation tortoise 2-color J-200 pickguard with iconic graphics that pay homage to Americana aesthetics. A mahogany 1960s SlimTaper D-shape neck is glued-in at the tapered dovetail neck-to-body joint to support the comfortable gloss feel up and down the 25.5" scale length. Topping the neck is a rosewood fingerboard with 20 standard sized frets and dazzling pearloid graduated crown inlays.
Adding to the supreme look of the J-200 is the Moustache rosewood bridge, equipped with compensated plastic saddle and ivory bridge pins with black dots. Furthermore, the Moustache bridge is adorned with four pearloid inlays for extra shine. Speaking of shine, the 60s Kalamazoo-style headstock features Epiphone logo and Gibson Crown displayed in mother of pearl. Installed in the headstock for pitch perfection are Epiphone Deluxe tuning machines with Keystone Buttons.
For recording and gigging, Epiphone has equipped the J-200 with a Fishman S-Core under saddle pickup for transparent acoustic tonality, capturing all of the deep lows and glistening highs without sacrificing the character or weight of the instrument when projected through speakers.
