A small bodied acoustic that packs a full sonic punch, the Gibson L-00 Special returns in 2026 with a Natural Satin finish. First introduced in 1932, the L-00 has remained one of Gibson's most sought after small-bodied acoustic guitar designs offering playing a comfortable and portable instrument. 

Crafted in Bozeman, Montana, the L-00 is constructed from a Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides. To support its tone, traditional scalloped x-bracing enhances vibrations, offering players a balanced tone with excellent dynamics. The body features a narrow waist, offering a more comforting playing experience and tighten low end response which is particularly useful for finger-style. Both the top and back of the parlor are decorated with single ply cream binding and the top receives a faux tortoiseshell pickguard.

A utile neck is affixed to the body using a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint and like all Gibson acoustic guitars, features hot hide glue to secure the connection. For playability, the neck has been carved to a SlimTaper neck profile and offers a 12-inch radius for easy fretting. The neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard that is crowned with 19 standard frets.

The L-00's signature open-book headstock houses the Grover Rotomatic tuning machines that keep the instrument up to pitch. Strings are loaded in the closed slot rosewood bridge and capped with TUSQ bridge pins. To amplify its voice, the L-00 Special is equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element Bronze active under-saddle piezo pickup and active preamp with a soundhole mounted volume control.
