Taylor's Next Generation series of acoustic guitars seeks to reinvent classic Taylor tenets to make their great experiences even better. This all starts – as many great Taylors have – with a Grand Auditorium body brought together by Taylor's Sitka spruce and two-piece sapele. The classic tonewood combo sings with all the great top-end chirp of spruce and the bassy warmth of sapele for an overall rich and versatile sound for so many kinds of music. A Venetian cutaway offers access to higher registers for greater exploration of the fingerboard. Taylor's Next Generation collection introduces scalloped V-Class braces to richen and liven the sound of this Grand Auditorium even further. The model's V-Class bracing features a Relief Rout that balances the low-end response of traditional flat-top bracing with the high-end response of Taylor's previous V-Class bracing patterns.

Taylor's classic Grand Auditorium shape is built out even further with this Next Generation model. A satin-finished neo-tropical mahogany neck lands with this model in a Taylor Standard Carve profile. This neck is affixed to the body with Taylor's new Action Control Neck assembly that makes adjustments truly easier than ever and with greater accuracy. West African Crelicam ebony makes up this guitar's fingerboard with faux pearl Weathervane inlays for a cool visual flourish and an easy feel on the fingers.

Tying together this Next Gen Taylor, we're met with a couple of considerations for playability and intonation. Toward the headstock, a black TUSQ nut and Taylor nickel tuning machines line up for smooth stringing and steady intonation. A West African Crelicam ebony bridge land at the scale's opposite end with a white micarta saddle for a solid connection of string-to-body. New Claria electronics come built with this 314ce to translate it tones to the stage or studio seamlessly. This Taylor Next Generation 314ce travels with an included Taylor Deluxe Brown hardshell case.
