Celebrate 40 years of PRS with the McCarty SC56. This extremely rare model is limited to 2 pieces total in the USA and sports a Silver Metallic finish and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. The McCarty SC56 is designed to pay homage to Ted McCarty – legendary pioneer of the electric guitar and mentor to Paul Reed Smith. Why SC56? Single-cutaway body and 1956, the year the fabled PAF pickup was first used in production. For a blend of vintage vibe and modern feel, look no further.

The single-cutaway body is crafted from a weight relieved mahogany which decreases the overall weight by 2/3 of a pound. The body is then capped by a maple top to deliver that iconic single-cut sound – warm and chunky with plenty of air and clarity. It's violin top carve paired with the contoured neck heel make for an extremely easy going playing experience. Amplifying its voice are a pair of McCarty III TCI humbucking pickups. The pickups can be controlled via traditional controls; a 3-way toggle switch and individual pickup volume and tone.

For its neck, a Pattern Vintage mahogany neck is attached to the body in a traditional set-neck design. Unique to this model, its neck is topped with a genuine Brazilian rosewood fingerboard which showcases the old school bird inlays. The fingerboard is accented with the Brazilian rosewood headstock veneer as well. For its fit and finish, the SC56 features smoked black hardware. Strings are loaded into the PRS Two-Piece bridge, rest on the bone nut, and are strung to pitch with the PRS Phase III Non-Locking Tuners with Wing Buttons.

Dressed up in a Silver Metallic finish and packed away in its rugged D1 molded hardshell case, the PRS McCarty SC56 is ready for action.
