Martin DE Retro Plus Mahogany Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Torrefied Spruce Top, Natural w/Soft Case
Your newest, oldest friend, the Martin DE Retro Plus Mahogany is an acoustic guitar eyeing a legacy. The DE Retro Plus is definitively not your grandad's acoustic. As nice as that would be, it rather looks to balance Martin authenticity and sound with design made to last and maybe even become your own future, vintage acoustic. Made to be musical for years to come, the DE Retro Plus is your ticket to a new musical legacy.
Martin looked to their flagship models for inspiration when designing this new Road Series model. Taking inspiration from classic Martin acoustics, this dreadnought sets out to combine cutting-edge design with timeless sound. It starts with a D-14 Fret acoustic body made from solid spruce and mahogany. Usually reserved for Martin Authentic and Modern Deluxe instruments, the solid spruce top on this Martin is heat treated through a process called torrefaction. This process bakes out possible imperfections in woods while giving it a lived-in and experienced sound found normally in vintage guitars with older tonewoods.
Built to be played, this Martin focuses on playability through several player-forward features. For one, an X-Brace pattern utilizing scalloped spruce braces enhances playability through stabilizing and balancing the projection greatly. The Performing Artist-shaped neck features a satin finish and pairs with an ebony fingerboard for a silky texture in hand and a seamless fretting experience. Together, these elements make the DE Retro Plus a guitar that you just won't want to put down.
Matching the smooth satin neck finish, the DE Retro Plus's body is finished in gloss with Martin's Aging Toner color, giving it that experienced look from the get-go. This gloss finish and aged color are primed for the stage as this Martin transitions seamlessly from practice to performance. Martin's E1 electronics system pairs an onboard tuner with the ability to plug in for amplified performance to add up to a guitar made for the stage. Once you've hit the stage, this dreadnought moves from gig to gig with safety with its included soft shell case.
As an acoustic made to sustain years of love, this Road Series DE Retro Plus is a guitar to turn to when you're looking to keep Martin in mind for years to come.
