Russo Music is proud to offer this, a Martin Custom Shop OM Auditorium, 18-Style. As a Martin Custom Shop Expert Dealer, we are thrilled and excited to have this gorgeous Martin 18-Style Guitar in our stock.
As much as this guitar may speak for itself, of course we'll discuss what has gone into this one-of-a-kind instrument. To begin with, this Custom Shop Martin features an Adirondack Spruce top, enforced with Adirondack Spruce Bracing in Martin's Golden Era Scalloped X pattern. This allows for increased natural resonance and articulation, bringing out the best of what many consider to be the Mac-daddy of top wood choices.
This 18-Style Martin comprises a Sinker Mahogany back and sides construction. This natural hardwood offers elegance through simplicity, proving a rich, earthy tone and response.
For the neck profile, this Custom Martin OM-18 Adirondack features the popular Modified Low Oval carve with High Performance Taper. This neck is fitted with none other than a Black Ebony fingerboard with classic Martin-spec 16" radius and Select Abalone inlays in Martin's Old Style 18 pattern.
It is a long-scale instrument, at 25.4", resembling that of a Martin OM guitar. Some players may find the longer scale length to offer more snap and rebound than a 24.75" scale, and dreadnought players will find familiarity in the 25.4" length as well.
The Martin OM-18 Custom is a true acoustic guitar, meaning electronics - so should you decide their necessity - are up to you! This Custom 18-Style is a Martin that exudes excellence through its simplicity, and a simple microphone and preamp will bring out its sonic qualities in a studio or live setting.
