Gretsch Deltoluxe Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar, Walnut Fingerboard, Black Top

Gretsch Deltoluxe Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar, Walnut Fingerboard, Black Top

In the 1930s, '40s, and '50s, mail-order catalog instruments like the "Rex" line proved to be a popular mode of music and today's Gretsch Deltoluxe Dreadnought pays homage to that vintage spirit. Fitted with a distinctly classic aesthetic and sound, this Gretsch acoustic captures an important musical moment in history.

The Gretsch Deltoluxe Dreadnought is shaped from laminated sapele in a specially-formed sloped shoulder body. Producing a classically woody sound with great stability and projection, the X-braced body is lightweight and plays with an impressive voice, despite its compact size. Onboard, the Gretsch Deltoluxe introduces a "C"-shaped nato neck. This neck in hand is form-fitting and easily played to inspire hours of playing comfort.

A walnut fingerboard appears on this model with twenty Vintage-sized frets. A twelve-inch fingerboard radius makes for a flatter feel across the fingers while retaining a comfortable and articulate touch. When playing, players have the option to plug in with the Deltoluxe's magnetic soundhole pickup that brings its vintage-style tones to electrified performance.

Across its body, vintage-inspired specifications appear to tie the instrument together. These period-correct details include a vintage-style pinned bridge, tortoiseshell binding and a "G" graphic pickguard. Painted pinstripe purfling, open-gear tuning machines and oversized dot fingerboard inlays join in on the equation to make for a totally impressive visual presentation. A semi-gloss finish imparts a silky texture on the fingers.

As a piece inspired by the great mail-order catalog guitars of the past, this Deltoluxe Dreadnought packs quite a bit of style and sound in its compact size.
