Gibson 1942 Banner J-45 Acoustic Guitar, Vintage Sunburst

Gibson 1942 Banner J-45 Acoustic Guitar, Vintage Sunburst

The Gibson Custom Historic 1942 Banner J-45 is modern recreation of one of the most famous workhorse acoustic guitars, authentically crafted in Bozeman, Montana.

This J-45 is designed to feel and sound as if it was taken from a time machine. The expert luthiers at Gibson Acoustic have created this guitar with meticulous attention to detail to recreate the J-45 at its most celebrated period, identified most easily by its "Banner" Gibson logo.

Its sonic excellence is achieved through a torrefaction process that emulates a guitar that has been a guitar for decades in a brand new instrument. When an acoustic guitar is broken in, its true tonal character shines with multi-dimensional resonance and articulation. Through this advance process, the 1942 Banner J-45 delivers these qualities right out of the case.

The 1942 Banner J-45 features a mahogany body with single-ply bound thermally aged Adirondack spruce top, along with Adirondack spruce bracing in a traditional hand scalloped X-pattern with hide glue construction. Its mahogany neck features a Historic profile with rosewood fingerboard, 19 Legend Wire frets with traditional 14th fret neck joint, Mother-of-Pearl dot fingerboard inlays, along with a bone nut and Gibson Strap open back tuners with cream buttons.

Truly a timeless instrument, the J-45 is one of the most coveted and played acoustic guitars of all time. This, the Gibson Custom Historic 1942 Banner J-45, represents the design at is most heralded period.

  • Thermally-aged tonewoods provide broken-in tone and playability
  • Adirondack spruce top with mahogany back and sides
  • Rosewood fingerboard and bridge
