Yamaha FS5 Red Label Concert Acoustic Guitar, Sitka Spruce Top, Gloss
Celebrating over 50 years of craftsmanship, the Yamaha FS5 Red Label Concert Acoustic Guitar wears its appointments proudly. While the simplistic aesthetic of this instrument calls back to vintage design of concert guitars from the 1960s, strategic design choices were made to ensure maximum tone and comfort for strummers and fingerpickers alike.
Made in Japan, this all solid wood build starts with a mahogany back/sides and is paired with a Sitka spruce top. A tone wood combination paired together for decades, the snappy, brighter qualities of the spruce compliment the darker, warmer depth mahogany provides, making for a pleasant listening experience. The wood undergoes Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (A.R.E), Yamaha's torrefaction process to give the wood a broken in sound as if it was played for decades. Under the top, scalloped forward shifted bracing provides warm, powerful lows and rich harmonics. The body is finished with a bound black/white binding and a wooden pickguard for a bit of flair.
Featuring a set neck design, a 25-inch scale length African mahogany neck meets the body at the 14th fret. The neck is topped with a dark ebony fingerboard, 20 frets, and dot markers. The matte finish on the back of the neck makes getting around the neck all that more faster and comfortable.
The FS5's ebony bridge keeps all 6 strings in place with the help of it's bone saddle and ebony bridge pins. The strings run down the neck and meet at bone nut and open-gear chrome tuners. Finished in a high gloss and paired with its hard shell case for storage, the Yamaha FS5 Red Label Concert Acoustic Guitar demands to be enjoyed for hours.
