Fender Vintera III Late '60s Precision Bass Guitar, Rosewood Fingerboard, Black
For a bass that sounds as good as it looks, we have the Fender Vintera III Late '60s Precision Bass. Progressing the legacy of the Vintera series, Fender has refreshed the line to feature 3 distinct eras within a single decade: early, mid, and late. Each distinction features decade accurate specs and finishes that have been lovingly crafted to recreate the vibe, sound, and feel of their respective eras.
Crafted from a double-cutaway alder body, the tonewood serves as the ideal platform for bassists, offering tons of punch and robust low-end. The body is finished in a gloss Black for a timeless look and sports a matching headcap. Attached to the body by a 4-bolt neck plate with the "F" logo, a 34-inch scale length maple neck is carved to a late '60s "C" shape profile. This profile is thinner by the nut and gets thicker by the 12th fret. The neck is topped with a round-laminated rosewood fingerboard that is accented by aged white pearloid dots and features a 7.25-inch radius. The fingerboard is crowned with 20 vintage-tall frets. The slightly taller frets improve playability compared to true vintage fret wire.
Nicely paired with the body, a 3-ply parchment pickguard is loaded with a vintage-style late '60s split single-coil Precision Bass pickup in the middle position and is mounted on the body. Engineered to deliver authentic '60s tone, the pickup delivers a warm, thumpy low-end with clear note definition. Tones can be further explored with the master volume and tone controls.
Sturdy, high quality hardware like the vintage-style 4-saddle bridge with threaded steel saddles provides solid stability and intonation. Strings are loaded through the bridge, and are strung to pitch with the Fender stamped non-reverse lollipop tuning machines. The P comes with a deluxe gig bag for on the go travel or protection while in storage.
Simple, timeless, and iconic, the Vintera III Late '60s Precision Bass makes a bold sonic voice.
