Gloss-finished and enabling Marr's speedy glides from note to note, this neck matches with a rosewood fingerboard bearing twenty-two Vintage-Style frets and ivory dot inlays. These lipstick pickups – a definite rarity among Fender guitars – are funneled through Marr's personally-designed wiring scheme that allows for a vast spectrum of sounds with a universal "Bright" switch, a pickup position four "Bright" switch, and a middle pickup on/off/only switch. With this guitar, Marr's personal eye on switching appears for something truly different and seldom seen in Fender signature models.

Topping off this signature experience, the Johnny Marr Signature Special Jaguar features a number of fine hardware specifications. Onboard, this Jaguar lines up with a classic Jaguar tremolo bridge with rounded Mustang saddles. A Vintage-Style Floating tremolo tailpiece grounds strings and enables expressive vibrato bends in playing while a synthetic bone nut and six-in-line American Vintage series tuning machines meet up at the Marr-signature-emblazoned headstock.
