Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition '59 Telecaster Journeyman, Aged Dakota Red
This Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition '59 Telecaster Journeyman in Aged Dakota Red blends vintage style and specs with some refinements to the Journeyman formula and modern tone tweaks.
The body on this Fender Custom Shop ‘59 Tele is 2-piece alder sorted for light weight, and it shows. This guitar clocks in just a fraction over 7lbs at 7lbs 1.1oz. The 8-hole parchment guard is loaded up with hand wound ‘58 Tele neck and bridge pickups with Fat ‘50s controls and wiring. The tasteful Journeyman relic job is fully present with some fine checking and barely-to-the-wood nicks and dings scattered throughout the whole of the body.
The neck profile is a ‘60 style oval “C” that measures .810” at the 1st fret and deepens to .950” at the 12th fret. The fretboard is AAA rosewood slab board, sporting the round, vintage style 7.25” radius, and loaded with 21 narrow tall 6105 frets and micarta white .250” dots. The finish on the back of the neck has been worn down delightfully smooth from the 1st to 12th frets—atypical on Journeyman relics, but a welcomed touch.
Most of the hardware is lightly aged and oxidized including the tuners, “butterfly” string tree, through-body ferrules, strap buttons, screws, and the vintage style threaded bridge saddles. The controls and bridge have only some light scratches.
This Fender Custom Shop '59 Tele Journeyman ships complete with a tan FCS hard shell case, COA, and case candy.
