Fender Custom Shop '69 Telecaster NOS Electric Guitar, Aged Lake Placid Blue

Fender Custom Shop '69 Telecaster NOS Electric Guitar, Aged Lake Placid Blue

For a tall, cool drink of water, take a swig of this Fender Custom Shop '69 Telecaster NOS in a simply quenching Aged Lake Placid Blue. This lightly worn, late-'60s-style Tele arranges with a stacked lineup of customized specifications, high-quality woods, and expressive electronics. Sometimes the best way to get into something is from the deep end, so hold your nose 'cause here comes the cold water.

The Fender Custom Shop is famous for knockout, vintage-inspired custom guitars. This Telecaster plays right into Custom Shop tradition with a great setup of specs. Everything begins with a two-piece ash body with an off-center treble seam, sorted for weight. Its off-center assembly matches with its "sorted for weight" quality where, during construction, a builder will select a body among a lot for its light weight. This light ash pick contributes to the guitar landing just above seven pounds, total.

In addition to its mobility and weight, this Tele's two-piece ash works as a canvas to wrap a Fender Custom Shop Relic finish treatment around. This particular Tele features the Custom Shop's lightest Relic finish treatment, NOS ("New Old Stock"), to emulate the look of a vintage lacquer finish treatment as if it weren't vintage at all and untouched by the wear of players or time.

For a seamlessly playable feel in the playing hand, this Custom Shop reaches out with a 5/4 quartersawn maple neck in a '60 Style Oval "C" profile. This Tele's neck calls upon one of the Fender Custom Shop's most popular profiles with custom dimensions. A hair thinner than your usual '60 Oval "C", this profile is effortlessly playable from lower to higher registers. This neck is paired with a round lam quartersawn maple fingerboard lined with the Custom Shop's 6150 fret wire. Twenty-one Medium Jumbo frets with Micarta Black facedots appear across this board for a balanced bit of space and articulation. A modern 9.5" radius makes for a flatter, quicker feel on the fingers.

This Fender Custom Tele punches up with a killer set of single-coils. Two hand-wound '67 Tele single-coil pickups drop in with this Telecaster for a lower-output, vintage-inspired, but clearer Tele twang. These hand-wound single-coils are shaped through the Custom Shop's '67 Tele wiring for expressive tones all the way down. Topping everything off, we're met with a host of reliable hardware specifications. First, a '67 Tele bridge lands at the base of the scale with chrome barrel saddles. A bone nut and Schaller F-Key tuning machines line up at the headstock for smooth stringing and solid intonation. Across this Custom Shop, this guitar's hardware features lightly touched NOS hardware finishes. This Fender Custom Shop Tele travels with an included Strat/Tele Black hardshell case.

Drop into the deep end of the Fender Custom Shop with this '69 Tele – just don't eat thirty minutes beforehand.
