This Fender Custom Shop ’69 Stratocaster Relic begins with a two-piece alder body in a 69 Strat style, sorted for weight. Resulting in a solid weight in hand, this Strat feels classic and sturdy. Its lacquer body finish dashed across the double-cutaway alder is endlessly rich and enthrallingly deep, exposing some bare alder wood grain in certain areas.
The alder body is paired with a 5/4 quartersawn maple neck shaped in a 1969 “U” profile to form the basis of the iconic Stratocaster shape. Comfortable and giving this Strat a smooth playing experience in the left hand, this neck plays a big part in this Custom Shop’s overall one-of-a-kind presentation. This maple meets up with a 9mm AAA rosewood fingerboard featuring twenty-one frets fitted with unique 45085 Vintage Upgrade fret wire. The overall radius of the fingerboard measures at 7.25”. 7mm Mother of Pearl facedots line the rosewood while 3/32” Mother of Pearl side dots accompany.
