Epiphone Coronet Electric Guitar, Ebony w/Hard Case
The Epiphone Coronet, first introduced in 1958, was a trailblazer – one of Epiphone's first and most successful solidbody electric guitar designs. Now, the Epiphone Coronet returns to its American roots, made in the USA. This guitar honors the original design with its symmetrical double-cutaway mahogany body, three-on-a-side headstock, and the iconic "bikini" headstock badge. These classic features nod to the Coronet's early days, when the guitar was played by legendary musicians like Jimi Hendrix, Steve Marriott, Johnny Marr, and Marshall Crenshaw.
This Epiphone Coronet isn't just about nostalgia, though. Epiphone has incorporated some modern improvements to enhance playability and performance, like the slightly reduced depth of its double-cutaway mahogany body, that's now only 1.375-inches for improved weight distribution and better balance while playing. Its glued-in mahogany neck is topped with an Indian laurel fingerboard, boasting a comfortable 12" radius and 22 medium jumbo frets, and acrylic dot inlays.
The Coronet’s single P-90 soapbar pickup delivers a character that makes this guitar a unique gem. P-90 pickups are known for their bright, articulate character, perfect for clean tones, overdriven blues, and crunchy rock rhythms, and this one is controlled by a simple layout – a master volume and master tone. High-quality CTS pots and a hand-wired circuit with an Orange Drop capacitor drive the point home: this guitar is made with high quality components.
The Coronet comes in a gorgeous Ebony finish, as well as a Vintage Cherry. A high-quality hardshell case is included with the guitar.
