Epiphone 1963 Firebird V w/ Maestro Vibrola Reissue Electric Guitar, Polaris White

Epiphone 1963 Firebird V w/ Maestro Vibrola Reissue Electric Guitar, Polaris White

Letting one of Gibson's most famous birds fly again, we have the Epiphone 1963 Firebird V with Maestro Vibrola. The Firebird, an original design by auto designer Ray Dietrich, made waves as Gibson's first neck-through-body guitar. Winning the hearts of many a '60s rock guitarist, the Firebird became a Gibson icon. This Epiphone "Inspired by Gibson Custom" model captures so much of what makes the Firebird a classic for any Gibson fan or guitarist to get into.

Vintage specs are the name of the game on this 1963 Firebird V. At every turn, Epiphone went ahead along with Gibson Custom to create an authentic and compelling offset model. This all starts with this model's nine-ply mahogany/walnut neck-through-body construction with mahogany wings. Resulting in a guitar with its tuners, pickups, and bridge all attached to the same piece of wood, this Firebird V is exceptionally resonant for exciting tonality.

Alongside this unique body design, this Firebird V's neck is shaped in a SlimTaper Rounded C profile. Matching with a rosewood fingerboard lined with twenty-two medium jumbo frets, this neck is fast and fluid for exciting playability across the whole scale. Mother-of-Pearl trapezoid inlays align across the board for a great visual addition.

For its voice, this bird sings with two American-made Gibson Firebird Mini Humbucker Alnico 5 magnet pickups. Hot and bright, these humbuckers burst with interesting tonal character for getting heated, bluesy, or anything in between for exceptional versatility. These pickups are also hand-wired with CTS potentiometers and Mallory capacitors to create vast and varied spectrums of sound to mix through.

Along with its impressive offset body and cool humbucking pickups, this Epiphone is fitted with a fine and sturdy hardware setup. Onboard, an Epiphone ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge punches in with a Maestro Vibrola vibrato tailpiece for working expressive pitch bends in playing. Kluson "banjo-style" planetary tuning machines and a GraphTech nut enable swift stringing and solid intonation. This "Inspired by Gibson Custom" model travels with an Epiphone "Inspired by Gibson Custom" hardshell case.

One of Gibson's finest feathered friends, this Epiphone model takes flight once again.
