Epiphone 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue Electric Guitar, Pelham Blue

Epiphone 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue Electric Guitar, Pelham Blue

First introduced in 1955 as a single cutaway model, the Les Paul Special was the last original '50s era Gibson to be introduced in their lineup. Fast forward to 1958, the Les Paul Special received a double cutaway body for improved fretboard access but it wasn't until 1960 when the guitar received a lower neck pickup placement and a thinner slim taper neck profile; spec changes that have cemented the instrument as the one we know today. The Inspired By Gibson Custom Epiphone 1960 Les Paul Special brings back all the charm of the originals, for every stage.

True to it's Custom Shop counter part, the double cutaway body is crafted from a slab of solid mahogany. A 1-piece mahogany neck joins the body with the traditional set neck design. Featuring a '60s SlimTaper neck profile and 12-inch fingerboard radius, the Special makes getting around the neck fast and efficient. The double bound neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard with Mother of Pearl Dot inlays and is crowned with 22 medium jumbo frets.

Sporting a pair of Gibson Custom USA P-90 Soapbar pickups, these P-90s provide a range of vintage tones from sweet cleans to punchy, mid focused overdrive. The P-90s are hand-wired to the CTS potentiometers and Bumblebee paper-in-oil capacitors that are housed in the control cavity. Tone is further controlled with the volume/tone controls and 3-way pickup selector.

The strings are loaded through the historic aluminum wraparound bridge with intonation adjustment screws and rest on the Graph Tech nut before meeting the Epiphone Deluxe three on a plate white button tuners on the Gibson "open book" headstock.

Finished in Pelham Blue and complete with a brown hard-shell case with pink interior and Inspired By Gibson Custom Graphics, the Epiphone 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut offers a true vintage playing experience that we're all about.
