1957 Gibson Les Paul Special Electric Guitar, TV Yellow w/ HSC - Used
This vintage 1957 Les Paul Special comes to us from a family member of the original owner, and is a wonderful example of this legendary, lasting model. Finished in its original TV Yellow nitrocellulose lacquer, this guitar is full of mojo and history.
It's clear that the original owner was a player; the wear across the mahogany neck, mahogany body, and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is a strong indication that this Les Paul was played frequently. The original TV Yellow finish has aged into a complex darkened hue with extremely strong and unique checking throughout the whole guitar.
The headstock shows remnants of the original Klusons tuners and have been replaced with Grover tuning machines, a classic move for players during the era when these became available. The original screw slots are present from the Klusons, as well as evidence to show that the holes had been enlarged to fit the newer Grovers. This is the only "unoriginal" part we have found on this guitar.
The original P90 pickups are present with the original potentiometers, solder joints, and capacitor. In addition, the original plastics, pickup selector, and amber switch tip are all present on this guitar. The pickups are extremely clear and have amazing push and pull with any amplifier. The original wraparound tailpiece is still with the guitar and in working condition.
This guitar weighs 8 lbs 1 oz and has a serial number that reads 7 7416. It comes with a vintage, non-original hardshell case.
