Gretsch Electromatic CVT Baritone Electric Guitar, Rosewood Fingerboard, Bristol Fog
The Gretsch Electromatic CVT captures the brand's power and fidelity in a baritone register, delivering an electric guitar that produces low, rich sounds without sacrificing comfort and quality. Aesthetically and tonally striking, this Gretsch will surely please any who desire a lower register for any musical application.
The Electromatic CVT is built from a mahogany solidbody offered in a Bristol Fog gloss finish that bursts from black to a wood-grained brown. The body features beveled contours add to the sleek design and contributes to a supremely comfortable playing experience. Bolted to the body is a maple neck delivered in the Performance "C" profile, a sturdy and tapered neck that lends to the low tonality of the baritone across its 27" scale length. Affixed to the neck is a bound rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and guided by pearloid neo-classic thumbnail inlays.
To maintain all low tunings utilized on the Electromatic CVT, Gretsch has utilized an Adjusto-Matic bridge with accompanying stop tail tailpiece to optimize intonation and vibration transfer from string to body, and ensuring all bass frequencies are captured with lasting resonance. In addition, a Graph Tech NuBone nut produces further tuning stability. Past the nut, Gretsch promises pitch accuracy with die-cast sealed tuning machines.
Capturing the deep tones of the Electromatic CVT, a set of Twin Six humbucker pickups are installed in the neck and bridge positions, offering a strong midrange presence and attack without lacking a colorful high end, and producing a powerful low-end that is gut-punching but balanced within the full tonal spectrum. The baritone guitar's sounds are controlled by a master volume and master tone knob, and a 3-way pickup selector changes the pickup utilization. In addition, the volume and tone knobs act as a push/pull coil-splitting controls for each pickup to turn hot humbuckers into sweeter single coils.
