Gibson Marcus King ES-345 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar, Sixties Cherry

Gibson Marcus King ES-345 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar, Sixties Cherry

To be played alongside one of modern guitar's brightest stars, we have the Gibson Marcus King ES-345. Marcus King, among today's most prolific blues guitar players, steps up to the plate with this signature ES-345 to deliver upon generations of musical excellence. With Gibson's design and construction and King's personal touch, this is true semi-hollow royalty.

Representing generations of guitar playing, King's ES-345 takes inspiration from his family. King's father, a blues guitarist, and his grandfather, a country musician, leave their marks on this distinctly vintage-inspired ES-345 – replica of an original King family ES-345 handed down from father to son, then father to son again. Originally released exclusively as a Gibson Custom Shop model, the King family ES-345 lives to ride another day.

This all begins with a semi-hollow ES-345 body brought together with three-ply maple and poplar. The maple/poplar/maple layering aligns with quartersawn Adirondack spruce braces and a maple center block for improved feedback resistance. Altogether, this ES-345's body construction is expressive and airtight when it comes to delivering a focused tonal profile. From here, a mahogany neck in a Rounded profile extends out to connect with a full grip in hand. This Rounded profile inspires a vintage-style feel in hand alongside an Indian rosewood fingerboard bearing twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets. Easily played and adorned with acrylic split parallelogram inlays, this board offers a rich fretting experience.

Sonically, the Gibson Marcus King ES-345 two Custombucker pickups that summon all the great humbucking warmth Gibson guitars are known for. Playing off the great acoustic resonance of the semi-hollow body design, these pickups are expressive and powerful with their hard-wired Orange Drop capacitors. Assisting in the sonic experience of this guitar are an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, a fixed Vibrola tailpiece, and Grover Rotomatic tuning machines that ground strings stably for fluid but sturdy stringing and playing experiences. The guitar's gold hardware makes this model authentically Gibson alongside a Graph Tech nut and an included hardshell case.

As one of modern guitar's most fiery players, Marcus King carries a legacy of Gibson greatness. His signature ES-345 delivers on all of that greatness for the players of today to take up for themselves.
